Profile
Il Forno’s newest location continues the restaurant’s tradition of using only the freshest quality ingredients and the finest seafood, meats and produce available. The kitchen features a wood-fired brick oven and offers an assortment of delicious specialties ~ from Northern Italian seafood, chicken, veal and pasta entrées to brick oven pizza creations. Fresh basil and garlic abound, but the chef is more than happy to “custom design” your meal to please your taste buds. Top off your meal with a delicious dessert from and assortment of fine Alden Merrell, The Cheesecake Factory, Sysco’s Supreme and tantalizing homemade creations. Catering and Corporate/private function planning are available as well. Additional locations in Fitchburg, Westborough, and Acton.

“the finest ingredients available”? Are you kidding me? I’m a CIA grad and seasoned Chef of ten years and I can tell you in my professional opinion that Il Forno is nothing more than that neighborhood pizza joint you go to @ 3am wasted. Their food is an absolute abomination of Italian Cuisine. Garlic and salt abound and are apparently the only tools the line cooks have at their disposal . From the soggy grinder roll slathered in oil and garlic powder that comes to the table to the coke-a-cola water glasses, this place is tacky and shameful. It will most certainly fail soon as I’m sure that the few people who brave the location will leave so disappointed as to never return.
The “wood fired” pizza is not a bad pizza but certainly not wood fired. I’m assuming they use that pizza oven with the wood burning box attachment which is basically just a bad quality smoker.
Worcester, you deserve better. Lets hear it for Armsby Abbey and hope that more people have the balls to open a no compromise establishment that only serves the greatest possible spirits, beer and conscientiously sourced food!

I find that so hard to beleive. I’ve been to the worcester location several times for their lunch buffet and dinner and I love it. I find the food is always consistant and delicious. The lunch buffet has a variety of pasta dishes, soups and salad and they’re different every day from what I heard. I do like armsby but they don’t have full dinner menus or italian, how can you compaire the two?
I really enjoy il forno and will continue to eat there, I hope people aren’t turned off by one lame opinion.
