Haiku on Worcester’s Park Avenue abruptly closed in the middle of March. There are no details about the closing. We hear that the Sahart Family, which owns El Basha next door, has already found a new tenant. The folks who own Kenichi on Worcester’s Shrewsbury Street plan to open a sushi restaurant called Saki Bomb.
Wilson Wang, owner of Park Avenue’s Kozara Asian Restaurant, recently closed down the place next door to his other restaurant, Baba Sushi. He plans to open a traditional Szechuan-style Chinese restaurant in its place.

Mine wasn’t an easy path to sushi appreciation. Even though I relished raw oysters and cherry stones, I considered them my cultural heritage and regarded raw finned fish as strictly off-limits.
But it was that appreciation for shellfish that paved the way for sushi. After all, I reasoned, if I loved raw […]

1121 Grafton St, Worcester
With a couple of notable exceptions, dining in Worcester’s Grafton Hill area has been nearly nonexistent. Things changed, though, when Hirosaki Prime opened in a new strip mall near Sunderland Road, an area of town long associated with fast-food emporiums.
But after a visit to Hirosaki Prime, I’m inclined […]

The Mai Tai Sushi bar will be opening soon on Worcester’s Green Street in the heart of the Canal District. It will be owned by the same folks who operate Auburn’s Yong Shing.
Having opened in early September 2011, Mai Tai Sushi on Green Street embraces a beautiful large, open space with contemporary accommodations and traditional Japanese cuisine.
