We had a chance to talk with Amy Peterson, Director of Marketing, to find out more about what we can look forward to at the Festival.
What was the inspiration behind creating the 1st Annual Brew-Woo Craft Beer Festival?
We’re always on the lookout for new events that are unique and relevant to Worcester. BrewWoo came to life after seeing that there appeared to be void in Central MA of a branded beer festival that appeals to local craft brewers and enthusiasts alike. Many major cities and regions have a signature event like this and we hope BrewWoo will become Worcester’s signature beer-tasting event.
Can you give us an idea of what’s in store for the entertainment portion of the event?
Live music! We have fielded the interest of many local bands with a diverse range of genres. Be on the lookout for an announcement about which bands will perform!
It looks like there’s both a coffee and a cocoa presence at the Festival ~ how did those companies come to be at a beer Festival?
While the festival’s main attribute is craft beer, the name itself is about brewing and all about being local. We wanted to give other local brewers a chance to participate. Who doesn’t need as good a brew in the morning as they do in the evening?
Tell us about the Bar-BREW-Que corner ~ will attendees be able to order BBQ items that have beer as a component in the sauce?
You got it! Each entrée on the freshly-made Bar-Brew-Que menu will have a different style of beer as one of the main ingredients.
Will any of the seminars focus on home brewing?
The seminars will feature experts and brew masters discussing a wide variety of topics relevant to the beer and brewing industry. There will be a Q&A session as well so attendees can help guide the discussion.
