Mezcal Cantina Worcester

As you can tell by its name, one of the most exciting aspects of this southwestern and Mexican-influenced restaurant is the full bar packed with a variety of over 100 different 100% agave tequilas (not to mention a selection of over 25 different margaritas). Try not to fill up on the complementary chips and salsa while you’re waiting for some delicious traditional Mexican and southwestern dishes including, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos and nachos. Other choices include salads, fish and chicken, all prepared, of course, with a Mexican/southwestern flare ~ and there’s a great 20oz rib eye steak, too. And don’t forget the guacamole bar, it is made to order and served just the way you like it.

This is a a great restaurant. We chose it because it had shuttle servie to the Hanover theater. We were pleasantly surprised with the great food that was served. They were well aware of our time constraint to get to the theater and the service was excellent. The made to order guacamole was a great way to start. I chose to sample the tacos (1 chicken and 1 tilapia – loved this one) with a side of vegetables (which was a medley of mushrooms, spinach, squash and peppers – excellent and deliciously flavored) which made a just right dinner as I had filled up on the made to order guacamole/chips and salsa. The golden margaritas are great tasting and you have a choice of salt or sugar. The shuttle dropped us right off at the doorstep of the Hanover (literally two steps) and it was very nice because we had gotten caught in a downpour. This restaurant is definitely doing things right because the whole experience was a pleasant one and made for a great night out. The shuttle once again picked us up at the door of the Hanover and we headed back to the Mezcal. We had a nightcap before our DD picked us up for the ride home. I highly recommend this restaurant especially if going to the Hanover and you’re in the mood for Mexican.

The restaurant is great. Try the jalapeno rice balls! We also enjoyed the burrito, nachos and love their guacamole, especially the crunchy. We have been there for lunch and supper, and have never been dissapointed. The margaritas are a bargain and pack a punch!
