Boynton Family Restaurant

This family restaurant (and longtime Worcester staple) serves a menu that’s the perfect combination for children, the college crowd, and adults alike. Concentrating on American and Italian food, pizza and seafood, the Boynton has both a bustling bar and quiet dining areas. Friendly service, great specials, a wide variety of food, take-out, and a comfortable atmosphere are what make this place a favorite neighborhood stop. And here’s a little-known fact, they cater, too!

Love the service, food and decor of The Boynton. I can tell that this is a restaurant run by one family, not a corporation or giant chain. Not something you see much of anymore…

Decor? You gotta be kidding. “Not see much anymore”. That’s precious.
It’s a loud bar and not a dining establishment.
Conversation is nearly impossible with the TV’s drowning out… loud bar patrons yapping it up.
    For beers, it’s ok.
Nothing special about the place that sets it above other “pub food” joints.

My daughter is turning 21 on Saturday and wanted to go here since its her college bar and just a few steps from her apartment. This will be a family evening with about 15 of her friends as well as my parents and our family. I tried to make reservations at 11:30 pm and they absolutely refused any reservations over 12 people. “It’s their general policy”.

If it is a general policy that would imply they make exceptions, but Jason, the jerk manager who I asked to speak to refused to budge.

My husband and I have been going here since college (alums of clark and wpi) and our daughter as a senior at wpi wanted her 21st here. They have plenty of space but will not accommodate this. I just was stunned.

The food is not good enough to warrant this sort of nonsense and no one can afford to simply turn away business, especially from long term customers.

We will be bringing the kids, the party and all of our money to the Sole.

I hope people realize beer and TVs are available all over the city, and will avoid the abuse that is so well dished out at the boynton.
